My whole life I have never been much of a reader. It was never a hobby that I could find exhilarating; in fact, I never even considered it a "hobby" before. I don't know if it is because I didn't have the patience, or a ball of energy that could not sit for more than a few minutes, or because I was a slow reader, or because every book I read was an assignment for school (which typically implied that they were long and boring and a subject that bored me to death!), or if i had not discovered an author that could write such wonderfully intriguing, yet controversial issues that keep you on edge from the very beginning. Jodie Picoult is just this author that I have been searching for. I have read 3 of her books in the past 2 months (a personal record) and can not wait to get the next one!
My Sister's Keeper is just one of those books that must be read. It grabs you from the start and, despite the fact that I have finished it, still hasn't let go.
I finished it this afternoon. I was laying on the sofa reading the last few pages when Jeff came home from work. I was a mess; I couldn't get myself to stop crying! I have never been so emotionally attached to a fictional character! Needless to say, it really hits home and makes you think.
I love this new hobby of mine. I will let you know what I plan to read next. Hopefully one by Jodi Picoult!
