This was the best day of my life! How ironic that only a few short hours after I made my last post, I went into labor?!
Avery is doing great, despite a mild case of Jaundice and a little too much weight loss during her first few days. Her numbers are going down and she is starting to eat better so hopefully her weight will start to go up.
I would like to say a special thanks to a few people that have made this a very special time for me:
1. My Husband, Jeff. He has been an angel beyond imagination.
I couldn't ask for a more wonderful husband and has been so great in helping out in every area possible.
I tell him everyday how much I appreciate his help; He is already proving to be a wonderful daddy. I love you, dearly, Jeffrey! :)
2. My mom. Bless her heart. She has been here for a month now helping me prepare for Avery and spent 3 weeks with us just waiting and waiting for me to pop. I can't imagine what it would be like not to have her love and support here with me. She has been up with me at night, helping me with feedings, trying to figure out how much/little/when/how to feed Avery, going to the doctors... basically everything I have learned about having a baby has come from her. Thank you Momma, I wouldn't trade this time with you for anything!
3. The rest of my family... Barbara, Ronnie, Emily, Jeremy, Annie, Hannah, Daniel.
Thank you so much for coming up to see us so fast! It means so much to us to have a loving family that can be just as excited for us during this time as we are. Also, for all of your support and help while you were here. It was such a fun weekend! I know Annie was intrigued by this new baby, but I don't think she really liked it very much when Emily was holding Avery instead of her, lol. I thank God everyday for letting Avery have a loving family to grow up in. :)
4. And, of course, my daddy. He was unable to make it to Avery's birth because he was in St. Louis for some meetings, then he got a head cold so he didn't want to come until he got better. He is finally going to get to meet Avery tomorrow. He sent Avery some flowers, a card, and a little stuffed animal. I know she will treasure those forever. I love my daddy more than words can say... I can't wait for him to meet my little girl.
5. All of my friends that have supported me this week...
~Allyson: for rushing up to the hospital the moment you knew I was there and being so excited to have Avery in your life, just as much as us.
~Tisha: Also, for coming up to the hospital and making your self available for anything and everything that I might need... even advice about some "not-so-pleasant" things that go along with having a baby, lol.
~Stori: You have been such a wonderful friend to our whole family for so many years. I am glad we get to share this time of our lives together. I can't wait for "Wannton" to get here!
~Elysha: Also, for coming up to see us at the hospital and for cooking us dinner this week. That was such a wonderful treat! I hope to be able to return the favor as soon as I can when you have Nathan.
I know I am forgetting some people specifically, but please know that Jeff and I are so grateful for everything that everyone has done for us, especially your prayers.
I hope to be able to keep everyone up to date on my blog, but I am afraid that I will not be able to post as often as I would like. I will do my best.
