I need to add to Allyson's post "Kids say the darndest things"...
I was watching Tisha's kids this morning for a bit while she went to get her car washed. We played with Playdough, played dinosaurs, cut paper, built a few puzzles, and watched this movie that Allyson and Tim gave Carson about dinosaurs.
Carson preceded to tell me, "I want to be a dinosaur! I would be a T-Rex!"
I responded, "But then you would be extinct."
Carson gave me a confused look and said, "No, I would smell good!"
I laughed hysterically and then explained what it means to be "extinct."
Those kids can keep you laughing, that is for sure! :)

LOST season 6 previews
I was doing some searching on YouTube when I found these videos... They are pretty awesome! I wish I could find a bit more, though! 6 months to go!
I found this blog about season 6; it is pretty awesome to read. Also, there is a lot of speculation (mentioned in this blog and elsewhere) that Charlie will be returning! (I sure hope so!!) Here is the Promo that started the chatter where Dr. McDreamy says "you're so dead" and Charlie responds with "Actually, I was." Who knows what this means, if anything... :
If you notice on this last video the date is October 12, 1492. This would be Colubus Day. So, is this really the Black Rock, or is it Columbus looking for the New World...??? There is more than just one ship so if it is the Black Rock, what happened to the other ship and how did it get to the middle of the island. Also, whoever it is that they keep focusing on seems to be very relieved to have found the island. Was he looking for it specifically, or did he think it was the New World? Are they referring to the fact that Jacob said he brought them to the island in the season 5 finale?.....Any Thoughts?

Book Worm
So I finally finished the Twilight Series about 3 weeks ago. (I just realized that I never posted about it.) I have to say that for the longest book of the series, Breaking Dawn was a bit disappointing. The ending was so anticlimactic that I almost cried out of disappointment! The story was very cute over all and I still LOVE the series, but I can't help but be a bit sad about the way it all ended. I can't wait to see the second movie coming out this fall! :)
My next series to tackle is Harry Potter. I know, I know, it's a bit cheesy and childish for someone my age to be reading, but I feel a bit out of the loop. Besides, after the Twilight series, I am kinda into the whole "magical"/"fantasy" genre. (Jeff is a bit worried that I am going to start dressing in all black, dye my hair, and get really pale... believe me, he has nothing to worry about since I love color, scared to death of dyeing my hair, and love laying out in the sun! lol)
Since I only saw the first movie, Stori has given me the first 2 books to read before I tackle the movies; and since the 5th (or is it the 6th?) movie just came out, I figured it's about time I catch up! I finished the first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone last night. It was really cute and very easy reading so I finished it really fast. I hope to get the second one read this week while I am laying on the beach in Florida! :)

Are you ready for some football??!!...
...Griblet is!
I went to Lubbock this weekend to visit Rachel, my friend and roommate from college, so while I was there I was able to stock up on some Tech gear. Along with a few new t-shirts, and a double T sticker for our future SUV family car, Rachel was so sweet and bought our baby 2 onesies and I got one to go along with them. I made sure to get one for each stage of growth so that he/she will have something "Tech" to wear for a long time.
Of course, Jeff is a bit disgruntled by the fact that our baby is already decked out in red and black, but I was nice and promised him that I would get an aTm one, too. I think I might make one that is half red and half maroon and says something like "product of a split household" on it. I think it would be cute! Anyways, here are the pics:

One down...
Soo many more to go...
This project is one that I have been anxiously awaiting for what feels like a really long time. My father in law is an amazing craftsman when it comes to wood working and can make some of the most beautiful pieces of furniture. I commissioned this piece a while back and when they came to visit over the Fathers Day weekend, he brought it up. At that point, however it was unfinished and needed to be stained. We put one coat of stain on together that weekend but then I decided that I wanted it to be a bit darker, so I added another coat. I love it! I know it is pretty dark, but that's just me...
When it came to applying the clear coat, now that was not as easy. I tried about 3 different spray on kinds and they all came out horrible!! (that is why there are some streaks on the inside lid). Oh well, now I know what NOT to use! I finally found some brush on polyurethane that worked a lot better and looks a lot smoother.
Thank you Ronnie for my beautiful blanket chest!! I love it so much and already have it filled to the brim with quilts and blankets.

Geaux Tigers!
No, I have not become a traitor to Texas Tech, but I have become a fan of the love affair that everyone has for LSU around here! As I have mentioned before in a few posts, my church, Trinity Lutheran, has an auction every year to help raise money for the school. Last year I made that Magnolia painting, which did really well, but the real money makers are all of the LSU items. Therefore, this year I have decided to make an LSU quilt in hopes that it will be the big ticket item!
YES, I have started, yet another project! I really need to get into a better habit of finishing projects before I start a new one... oh well!
I have yet to see any quilts at the auction, even amongst all of the other college stuff. I really think it will go over well (that is, if I can get it done by next spring).
So, here are a few of my fabric purchases for the quilt. (the colors look a little off, but they are all mainly golds and purples. I need to figure out how to get better colors on my camera) I will post my progress as I work on it...

Week 10
I found this so interesting and thought I would share every few weeks what the milestones are for baby "Griblet":
This week marks the beginning of the fetal period, which lasts until birth. Your baby's body systems, such as circulatory, nervous, reproductive and digestive, are fully formed during this time. His heart is beating approximately 160-170 beats per minute. Your baby is 27 - 35 mm or 1.06 - 1.38 inches with 1/2 the length being attributed to the head. He weighs between 3 - 4 grams (or less then 1/2 ounce), or 4 paper clips.
Also, your baby will become much more active then before, but unfortunately, his movements are still too small for you to notice. He will be moving his arms and legs, which can be seen on an ultrasound. Your baby's joints are fully formed, as are his tiny hands, feet, fingers and toes. At this age, he would be able to grab an object, if it were placed in his hand, as he grows more and more sensitive to touch. Your baby's eyes are open most of the time but the eyelids are beginning to fuse - they will stay that way until you reach approximately 25 to 27 weeks. The external genitalia are beginning to be able to show your baby's gender and both the external ears and upper lip are completely formed now. Your baby's biggest accomplishment this week is the disappearance of the tail!
Also, your baby is breathing. This breathing activity is noticeable as he "breathes" amniotic fluid. He is beginning to urinate as well.
