Butterfly Kisses

I caught this butterfly in the grass tonight. I was so impressed that he was sitting so pretty for me, but when I looked back at the pictures, I noticed his wing was broken. Poor thing. I got some great shots of him though!

Playdates

Thursday was a playdate with Isla and Friday was with Nathan. Unfortunately Elysha and I didnt take any pictures... oops.

4 Months

Avery is 4 months old today! GEEZ!
She is getting so big! I feel like I say that all the time, but it's so true.
She is now 26 inches long and right at 15 lbs. This puts her in the 90th percentile for height and 75th for weight.
We have her check up on Monday so we will get her official measurements, but I wanted to do them today since it's her actual birthday.
Her personality is really developing, too. She loves to let out loud screams just to hear her own voice, then giggles, thinking it's hilarious that she can scream that loud.
She's really getting into her toys. Her current favorites are her Links and Leap Frog Caterpillar. She will entertain herself in her Baby Einstein Entertainer for long stretches of time now. It's wonderful!
I know it sounds early but she recognizes and loves her "blanky." She grabs at it while its hanging on the rocking chair and fusses till i put it on her during nap time. I love that she is recognizing things so much now!
Yes, my 4 month old child has long enough hair for a ponytail! I never know what to do with her hair cuz it's short on the sides since she lost it early on and long on top. She had a Mohawk after I took out the ponytail, lol. Also, you may be wondering where I got a child with strawberry blonde hair... your guess is as good as mine! I think its so pretty though. In the sunlight she has lots of blonde highlights.
She can sit up now, but she needs help with her balance. I think she will be sitting on her own very soon. Rolling over should be soon, too. She's done it a few times, but not consistently. She loves to stand and prefers that to sitting, but it wears my arms out!
I love my growing baby. It is the most fun I have ever had, watching her grow and change every day.

Thumb-Sucker!

It's about time!! She officially found her thumb today and then wouldn't give it up, lol.

Website

It's a work in progress right now, but I've finally got around to making a website for my photography. I am very excited about it and still working on the design of it, so it will probably keep changing, but it's a start! It's going to take me a while to get it the way I want it since I only get a few minutes here and there to work on it. Sick

Despite my greatest efforts of keeping everything so clean, Avery caught what I had last week... A nasty head cold. She started showing signs that something was wrong on our way home from Houston on Wednesday. She fussed the whole way home when she normally sleeps or is very pleasant in the car.

Sure enough... a cough and congestion set in that night. Poor thing had a horrible night and couldn't sleep. I can't blame her; I didn't either when I was sick. I had the doctor call in a prescription yesterday so it seems to be helping a little. She looks so sad all the time, though. Her eyes are so red and watery; her cough sounds painful; and her little nose is so stuffed up. It breaks my heart when she looks up at me with those eyes that say, "fix it, mommy! I don't know what's going on!" At least it's just a cold, but now I have to watch for dehydration since she doesn't want to eat very much. As of right now, I think she's ok in that area, but it can happen so fast. I hope she gets over it faster than I did 'cuz I'm still fighting a stuffy nose after a week now.

Aloha to LOST

Tonight marks the end of a chapter in my life. A piece of me will truly be missing. I know it sounds crazy to say that but it is so very true. I became a "LOST-ie" during the summer of 2007 so I had to do some catching up, but was instantly hooked. Since then, it has been a part of our lives. Blogging, discussions, theories, revelations. It has captivated us on so many levels. I think that this show has the potential to go down in history as one of the greatest series ever written. The writers are genius. There has never been a show like it and probably never will be. If you are not a "LOST-ie" you won't get it... but take my word for it; it's amazing.
After tonight, we will know how it all ends. Which questions will be answered; Which will not. Tonight's finale will make or break the reputation of the show. I hope, for the sake of my sanity, that it is amazing.
I will miss the characters. We have come to feel like we know them personally.
I will miss the Mystery. Will All of the questions be answered? I doubt it. I think the writers want us to keep discussing theories about the show for years to come.
I will miss the music. It pulls you in. It's unique. When you hear it, you instantly think of LOST. (Luckily, I have the theme song as a ring tone on my phone)
I will miss my Tuesday nights to look forward to.
So here's to you, LOST. It's been a great 6 seasons! Thank you for being my favorite show of all time. :)
