New Camera Lens

OOOOohhhhh I want this camera lens SOOOO BAD!

Nikkor 50mm f/1.8
From all of the reviews I have read, its one of those just simple basic lenses that you need and would fall in love. It’s really fast so it is supposed to be great for low light and it stops all the way from f/1.8 to f/22 so it will have great depth-of-field control.
For only $135 (cheaper at some sites) it’s a steal in camera lens terms (especially since some of the specialty ones that I would like are closer to $1000!)… but alas, its still $135! We have been trying so hard to stay on budget this month but its not even half over and we’re close to busting due to all of the stuff going on these days. Plus, with Avery’s birthday coming I may have to wait a little longer. Sad smile. So, I will have to wait till we have a month with some extra cash. Oh well, such is life (especially with kids and one on a super duper fancy formula for digestive issues).
Oh! and I have an old canon film camera that I learned photography on that was my dad’s in college that he learned on. Turns out, the lens that is on it is this exact one! Too bad I don’t have a canon camera!
Ill keep you posted on when I get it!

I have that one!!! Well actually I just returned it bc I had the 50mm 1.8f AF. Anyone who owns a Nikon 5000 (like me) needs the 50 mm 1.8f AF-S (Slightly more expensive than the AF version)... bc I couldn't use the auto focus with the 50mm AF bc my camera was missing the pin to activate it..or something like that. But the AF-S has the motor for the auto focus built inside the lens. So anyway I'm going to exchange it. But I still did use the AF before I sent it back. I just had to manually focus the lens. It was amazing!!! I think I'm going to wait and buy the 50mm 1.4f G SIC....it's a new lens and has raving reviews! Look into that one!!! You will love it! I plan on saving my "allowance" so I can get it. I was going to just get the 50mm 1.8f AF-S but whats a couple of hundred dollars more for a really awesome lens that I will keep and use until my kids won't let me obsessively take pictures of them anymore!!!

I actually looked into to f/1.4 but the reviews I read said it was only worth the extra $ if you were truly that worried about the little bit of extra "blurr" in your shots but the 1.8 will give you the same look. there's actually a 1.2 also but the argument is the same.
I need to see if mine would work on just the AF cuz I was hoping to just get it
