How Time Flies!

I was out of town this weekend so I couldn't post this, but October 24th marked our 1 year anniversary of moving into our house! I can't believe it's been a year since we left apartment life and took the plunge of home ownership. A lot has happened in the last year, good and bad, but mostly great. This house will always hold a special place in my heart! :) Here is the little video I made of the pictures from the house being built and our move. Lots have changed since I took these pictures to make the house a home. I can't wait to see how long we can stay here and make some more memories.

This makes me happy!

I finally found Eggnog at the grocery store yesterday! :)
Eggnog on the shelf means that the holidays have officially begun.
It is such a shame you can not buy it year-round.
This pregnant lady is very happy that she can finally satisfy her craving
(My mouth is watering just writing this post, lol)
Now, to go pop in Elf and pour a glass of some yummy Eggnog...

The Last Piece!

I can't thank Stori and Nick enough for picking up the glider for me at the store! I was soo excited last week when they called to say it was ready to be picked up but today was the first day we were able to schedule a time to go get it. Stori and Nick live right by the boutique that I got it from and they insisted that they could pick it up for me and bring it over. They are wonderful friends! I owe you big! :)
It is so wonderful! I can't wait to get the pillow that goes with it (it was on backorder). It is a bit tight in the room, but I think it is nice and cozy :)
Now for some stuff to go on the walls....

Dose of Political Humor

I've decided that I might have this type of post on a regular basis...

Every Woman Needs to Watch...

I know I struggle with body image and comparing myself to any and every other girl I see. This is just something that needs to be seen:

Design & Wine

"Design and Wine" is an event that was put on by the local floral shop here in Ponchatoula. It is basically an excuse for women to get together to socialize, drink wine, and make something to take home that evening. It was a blast and I can't wait to go to the next one!

Here is my wreath that I made... I hung it on the door as soon as I got home :)

Pilobolus

Picture This...

A football dome named the "Pink Taco"...

There's jsut something wrong with that...

But, yes, it is a topic of discussion around New Orleans that the dome will be named the "Pink Taco" after a Mexican food chain out of Arizona...

Only in New Orleans...

Yes! I am ready...

...For Christmas! I saw that the Trans Siberian Orchestra is coming to New Orleans this December... I really want to go! I love love love them. Now, my Holiday spirit has been renewed and I am all that more ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas to get here :)

So, in the spirit of the mood, here is one of my favorite videos to their song "Wizards in Winter":

It's About Time...

...That the Obama's got a little heat. I could go on and on about how there have been soo many topics that people like Saturday Night Live could have spoofed but haven't. (Reference Stori's long list here) Thank you Conan O'Brien for finally poking fun at the other side! A little political humor is OK when it is done on both sides and it doesn't get too personal!

Avery's Christmas Stocking

It is a tradition in our family to make our Christmas stockings. My mom and sister have cross-stitched theirs and ours growing up, which I am not good at or really enjoy doing, so I decided to take a different approach and quilt Avery's. I was lazy last year and simply bought mine and Jeff's stockings, but they are also green and white quilted ones, so they fit. Now, I just need to get a pretty hanger for it. I LOVE her's and am totally jealous of how awesome and BIG her stocking gets to be, lol. Oh well, I would much rather her have it and plus, there's plenty of room for Santa to fill it up ;)
I put her name on the loop. The blue stiching matches the Christmas fabric I used for lining on the inside. I love this line of fabric!:A close up of the quilting:

Annie's First Pumpkin Patch

My niece, Annelise, came this weekend so we took the opportunity to take her to pick out her first pumpkin! It was a blast! It's she adorable?!

Avery's Nursery

I need to say a special thanks to Ronnie (my father-in-law) for coming to install the chair rail, shelves, and paneling to the bedroom. It looks amazing! We worked really hard on Saturday and were able to get everything done except the decal. I knew that would take lots of time and would be a test of my patience, so I waited until this morning to up it up. I LOVE it!! It is from Lewa's Design's on Etsy. It was love at first site and I had to have it for Avery! :) I hope you like the room!
