Olympic Humor

The International Olympic Committee announced Monday that it has taken back the gold medal previously awarded to American skier Lindsey Vonn and given it to U.S. President Barack Obama. Olympic officials said Obama deserved the medal more than Vonn because no one has EVER gone downhill faster than he has!

Baby Nathan

My friend Elysha had her baby on February 18th. Unfortunatly I have not been able to go see them or meet the little man, but Stori went by and took a picture for me on her phone.



Isn't he adorable?! He looks just like his daddy! I look forward to meeting him and having play dates with Avery. :)

Bath Time

Avery is really starting to like bath time now that she can take real baths (as opposed to sponge baths). I guess the warm water is soothing... I know it is for me :)

A Work In Progress

I am so excited about this project I've had going for a while. I was tired of having a mess of a recipe cabinet and having to dig around for the same recipes over and over, so I've put together a binder full of mine and Jeff's favorite recipes. There are some real treasures in there! Some are mine, but most of them come from our moms and grandmas. Ive already got about 60 recipes in there and I keep finding new ones to add to it. I think I am going to have to go get a bigger binder! lol

Life Saver

To all you future moms out there, this Bouncer Chair from Fisher Price is quite possibly the best baby purchase, yet. I can't get Avery to sleep in her crib during the day (which is an area we must address and work on) but she loves to nap in this chair. It has a vibrating feature but she doesn't seem to like it (I don't blame her).
Let's just say that thanks to this chair, I can buy a few hours to do a few things for myself.

Avery already has Jeff wrapped around her little finger. She was his Valentine this year and he got her this jewelry box from Potterybarn:



To hold her growing collection of jewelry. I have to say... I'm a bit jealous, lol.

Mother's Ring

You may recall that I told you guys that as part of my Christmas gift from Jeff, I could pick out a mothers ring. Since we were not sure if Avery would be born in January or February I've had to wait to buy anything.
I did some shopping around but resorted back to my favorite jewelry store, James Avery, out of Texas. They have these birthstone rings that you can stack and wear multiple at a time. It's perfect... Each kid will have their own ring but they can be worn all together. Here is the one for February (Amethist):



It's a very modest ring and a much smaller stone than what Jeff had in mind that I would pick out, but I love the concept! It's also engravable! So, I plan to put "Avery 2-5-10" on the inside. I can't wait for it to come in :)

I'm finally able to have some of Jeff's homemade beer. Man, Is it good! Well, although it is very good, it's been 9 months since my last drink and so it tastes all that much better. Lol
