March 2, 2009

Did you know that today is Texas Independence Day?
On March 2, 1836 Texas signed it's independence from Mexico at Washington-on-the-Brazos to become the Republic of Texas.
So, here's to you, Texas, my home sweet home!

Weekend Review

I had such a wonderful time on Saturday with my good friend Stori! We decided that it was about time that we did some exploring of the Mandeville, Covington area here in Louisiana.
Stori had been wanting to get some new furniture f
or her dining room so that led us to do some furniture shopping at some AMAZING stores in the area. Most of the places that we went to were the type that carried local artists' pieces and/or unique finds that you can't get anywhere else.
I have to say, that I am extremel
y inspired to bring out my creative side and get into furniture refinishing. It would be so much fun! I have done some refinishing on wood pieces in the past, so that would not be a problem for me, but when it come to upholstery, I would definitely need some direction!
I actually went to Goodwill today to see what they had. There was a wing back chair there for only $60 but it needed a full overhaul! Again, as far as upholstery goes, I would need someone who knows what they are doing to give me some pointers before I tackled that kind of project. Can any of you help??
Anyways, here are some pictures of the set that Stori
found for her house. She got the dining room table, 2 white chairs and 2 blue chairs, and a blue bench to go on the other side of the table. I absolutely LOVE it and can not wait to come visit it when she gets it all up in her house!
This is what she has already bought:

I think this one would be cool as their TV stand:

This one could go in their entryway:

Either 2 of these Side Tables for by the sofa:

Hutch:

I found this chair, but I dont think it will pass Jeff's approval, lol:

Have You Laughed Today?

READ BEFORE YOU WATCH

It's hilarious. The more times you watch it the funnier it becomes. It is from a Dallas news broadcast.

Watch the little critter, a small desert lizard, on the left side of the table.

Remember the man on the left is concentrating on the snake the other guy is holding.

This news guy will never live this down, that's for sure!!!!

Then watch it a second time and listen closely to the 'sounds' the newscaster makes!!

Tease

After having such beautiful weather today, I have decided that Spring can not get here any quicker. I absolutely love Spring and Summer; the sun and warm weather are quite possibly my best friend! lol jk
So, I have decided to dedicate my blog to only spring and summer background themes.
Hurry up Summer!
:)

The Inconvenient Dept

Glenn Beck is my new favorite person!

"The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham"

Awesome episode, as always! Here are my outstanding questions. Some might be repeats from last week, but if they are not answered, they will stay on my list. So, here it goes...

1. Who can we trust, Ben or Widmore? I trust Widmore over Ben because he has never given us a reason not to, while Ben manipulates someone every episode. (Plus he kills John, so that is reason enough, but I will get to that one)
2. How did Hurley, Kate, & Sayid find out about the flight?
3. Why do they have to be "proxies" for each other?
4. Who beat up Ben? I think it was Widmore, not only to protect Penny, but to revenge him killing John
5. When Ben said "Who cares" when referring to the other passengers on the plane, does he really not care about them, or does he just see the big picture?
6. What happened to Rose and Bernard and the other people that they have not been following??
7. Where is Claire?
8. Still, Where is Aaron?
9. What does Christian have to do with everything?
10. Why do you see dead people on the island?
11. We still don't know how the "Black Rock" got there
12. When the Ajira flight crashed, Ceasar and the police lady that was escorting Sayid were talking about a man who was in the water, was that supposed to symbolize Jesus walking on water???
13. What was the favor that Kate did for Sayid a long time ago when they first got back to the real world?
14. What are the numbers?
15. Finally, We still dont know what the smoke monster is...

My Analysis:
I totally called last week that John is supposed to represent Jesus and Ben is Judas! Boo-ya! I love it when a theory of mine seems to be coming true! :)
I hope that they answer some of these next week, but unfortunately I think there will only be more questions.

Mardi Gras 2009

Last night was the Bacchus parade, the one and only that we ever attend for Mardi Gras. Val Kilmore was the Grand Marshall, which was pretty cool, but he looked horrible! Poor guy.
Baker Petrolite is a wonderful host and we hope to keep the tradition up. We always have so much fun!

Lost

Here are some of my outstanding questions for LOST as of 2/18 episode "316":

1. What happened to Aaron?
2. Who did Ben get in a fight with? Did he try to kill Penny and Desmond beat him up? Or, did Widmore do it?
3. Why is Kate and Sayid and Hurley acting so wierd?
4. How id they find out about the flight?
5. Is Kate pregnant with Jack's baby and is Claire's "proxy"?
6. Where is Walt??
7. If Kate is Claire's proxy, Sayid is Kate's, and Hurley is Charlie's, the other guy in first class must be Sayid's. Who is Ben and Jack a proxy for?
8. I thought Ben couldn't go back to the island.
9. Why does John have to wear something of Christian Shephard's?
10. We still are not sure what the smoke monster is...

My Analysis:
I think this whole show is themed around the life of Christ; Something to do with it anyways. Ben talks about the story of the Apostle Thomas (I think it was Thomas). I think that John is "Jesus" because he has to come back to Earth, die to save everyone, and then he comes back to life (as we know from the preview for next week). Jack is "Thomas"; Jack has never lived life based on faith, he always has to "see to believe" and this is exactly what Thomas did to Jesus after the Resurrection. Ben must be the devil (lol, actually I am just kidding. Could be, though). Actually, Ben could be Judas Iscariot, because, from the preview, He looks like he is there to help John die.
I will have to do some research on some more of the Apostles and Disciples to see if any more fit.
Of Course, this could all change after next Wednesday.
I like to think that I am on the right track, though! :)
