Home made Pizza

DSC_0026
YUMMMM!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE pizza! Why I have not made my own pizza dough before today, I do not know, but it is so stinking easy and so good! I got the recipe from Food Network’s Making it Easy cook book. I simply added some Italian seasoning to the dough just for a little something extra.
Normally, I am a cheese and pepperoni only kinda gal but I decided to venture out and get fancy tonight. I put just a little sauce, chopped tomato, fresh mozzarella cheese crumbles, prosciutto, and then sprinkled some basil on once it was done cooking. Wow! was it good. I am not sure if I will be able to wait for dinner tomorrow to eat my left overs Smile

Hello Out there!!

Is anyone still listening??

I doubt it.

Despite the fact I have probably lost all of my readers (as if I really had any..) I have begun to feel the itch to get back into blogging. I used to love it! Why I lost my groove over the past year, I can’t really put my finger on it, but I think it has to do with one main factor:

I don’t really always feel like I can live up to the title of my blog, “Suzie Home-maker”. I feel like that name has such a precedent associated with it that I can’t keep up with. I fail miserably as a house wife daily. Our house is a wreck continuously, I don’t cook often enough or as healthy as I would like, I don’t get to spend enough time in the craft room as I would like…. When I realized I was trying harder to keep up with the stigma behind my blog name than focusing on my precious babies and actually doing some of those things rather than blogging about them, the blogging got put on the back burner. Now that Norah is a bit older and sleeps so much better I feel better about spending a few minutes at night talking about what’s going on over here.

Anyways, I hope that I can regain a few readers trust that I will do my best to keep my blog going as long as my girls allow me to Smile

New Camera Lens

OOOOohhhhh I want this camera lens SOOOO BAD!
353_2137_AF_NIKKOR_50mm_f-1_8D
Nikkor 50mm f/1.8
From all of the reviews I have read, its one of those just simple basic lenses that you need and would fall in love. It’s really fast so it is supposed to be great for low light and it stops all the way from f/1.8 to f/22 so it will have great depth-of-field control.
For only $135 (cheaper at some sites) it’s a steal in camera lens terms (especially since some of the specialty ones that I would like are closer to $1000!)… but alas, its still $135! We have been trying so hard to stay on budget this month but its not even half over and we’re close to busting due to all of the stuff going on these days. Plus, with Avery’s birthday coming I may have to wait a little longer. Sad smile. So, I will have to wait till we have a month with some extra cash. Oh well, such is life (especially with kids and one on a super duper fancy formula for digestive issues).
Oh! and I have an old canon film camera that I learned photography on that was my dad’s in college that he learned on. Turns out, the lens that is on it is this exact one! Too bad I don’t have a canon camera!
Ill keep you posted on when I get it!

Norah @ 5 months

202203227234238240photo
She is such a happy, silly little girl with a hairdo to match! lol I hope she always stays that way! She is growing strong and getting big. We are moving to the 6-9 month bin of clothes very soon. I hope she will be sitting up by 6 months but I think it might take just a little longer.
She is a beautiful blessing and we thank God every day for her and the joy she brings our lives.

Camera Strap Cover

Once again, I am here to tell you sorry for the long lapse in blogging. It’s just not on my priority list these days…. Hopefully it will be again soon. What better way to come back than to show you something crafty.
A few friends want to come over and have me teach them how to make a cover for their camera straps. So, Yesterday, I sought out to make a design and pattern that I thought was cute. Of course, I had to go online to get a little inspiration and I combined a few elements I found there. I particularly love the fabric flowers! Smile I hope they have fun making it with me when we can get together!

Norah 3 Months

066
Norah turned 3 months old on Halloween! She was a great caterpillar Smile.
Here’s what she’s been up to:
~She laughed in the tub the other day!
~She takes about 3 naps a day
~She gets up around 6:30am and goes to bed around 7:30ish and wakes up about 2 times a night.
~She has started grabbing her toys. There is a little pink ballerina doll that I have been giving her and she seems to really like it already.
~She recognizes me and gets excited in the mornings when I get her up
~Starting to crunch when she is laying down and wants to be picked up.

3 toddlers and a baby

My sister was here this weekend. That means there was 3 toddlers and a baby in my house. It happens quite often that they are together for days at a time but this weekend was special.
Toddler 1: knocked the trash can over spilling food and diapers and lots of yucky mess all over
Toddler 2: Threw a pumpkin in the toilet
Toddler 3: A. made a dirty diaper and decided to find out what it felt like and come show me her dirty hands. B. Has a mysterious large scratch on her forehead that I have no idea how she got it.
Baby: Had a lovely blowout in her diaper
I don’t think anyone truly knows the meaning of tired until they are a mom! Life these days is exhausting but we are making some pretty hilarious and wonderful memories!
