Avery's 2 Month Check-Up

Today Avery went for her 2 month check-up. Can you believe its been 2 months already?! I can't!
She had to get 3 shots and 1 oral vaccine. She screamed for about 5 minutes then was done. She's been sleeping since we got home with a few spurts of fussiness, so hopefully she stays content.
Everything looks good. She weighed 11.7 lbs and is 24 inches long. This put her in the 50th percentile for her weight (right at average) and the 95th percentile for her height (way over average). Looks like she's on track to be tall and thin... we'll see.

Pabor Family Egg Dying Tutorial

Step One: Boil the Eggs
Step Two: Dye the Eggs
Tip: Make sure you know what colors are made when your primaries are mixed together!
You can use Emily's technique and slap a few stickers on them.
Or,
You can use Dad and Hannah's technique of making use of the wax crayon
Or,My technique of blending the colors
Or,Even try something new! Here, I put a few drops of dye into the egg carton and set the egg on top. I thought it actually turned kinda cool! lol

Step Three: Marvel at our mad decorating skills!
Step Four: Laugh until your sides hurt!

Happy Easter!

He has risen!! Alleluia!!
Ok, I am really late, but Its better late than never, right?

We had 3 egg hunts! The first was at Pappy and Nana's lake house.
Here she found the biggest egg!The next weekend we went to Meme and Paw Paw's house. We had an egg hunt at the church but Avery wasn't too excited about it so Jeff picked up a few eggs for her.

Then Easter Sunday morning the Easter Bunny came again and brought another Easter basket and hid eggs in their backyard.
It was so much fun to make Avery's first Easter basket.

What exactly do you put in a basket for an 8 week old?? Onsies, money, a movie... She didn't have a piggy bank yet so I got one of those and put some change into some eggs for us to put in the bank together. Jeff was excited that she had her first money saving lesson, lol.

Avery was wondering why in the world we woke her up for all of this.
Annie did most of the egg hunting but Avery watched happily.
(Isn't that hair just ridiculous?!? It is so out of control! lol)

Texas Bluebonnets

Every time that Jeff and I make the trip back home to Texas we get this overwhelming sense of nostalgia when we cross over the Texas/Louisiana border. I know everyone thinks Texans are crazy and are obsessed with their state, but only those of us from there can understand what I mean. I don't really know how to describe it, but its almost a peaceful feeling just driving through that beautiful state!

The bluebonnets are blooming now and it is just gorgeous. Central Texas (aka "The Hill Country") has some of the most beautiful fields of rolling hills full of the beautiful state flower. It truly is sight to see! As the song says, "but all and all they can't complain
'Cause the bluebonnets are about to bloom again,". It can't be said any better!
It's been a tradition of my family's to take pictures in the bluebonnets every year. So, of course I have to pass it along to my children. We found a good patch of bluebonnets in The Woodlands and snapped a few pictures. Unfortunately, I had to be in the pictures since Avery can't sit up on her own.
This is my favorite pictures since Jeff was able to catch Avery with a little grin. :)

Here are a few good pictures that I was able to get of the flowers with some bumble bees:

Need A Laugh??

Read the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" books.

They are hilarious! They are so simple and easy to read, you can finish them in a matter of a few hours.. or for some people even less time, lol. I'm done with the first one and plan to start the next one soon.

My Favorite Time of Year

... Spring!

I simply love it! It just puts you in a good mood when the air is warming up, the sun is out, leaves are turning green again, flowers are budding. How can you resist not being outside??
There are way too many photo-ops for me... I can't resist putting a few quick picures of some flowers I took at my parents house... Just to put you in the mood, too! :)

**Disclaimer... these are before I've done any editing since I dont have access to my computer at the moment...

Avery's Baptism

Avery became a Child of God on March 21, 2010.
One of the best days of my life!

Updates

Sorry for my absence, Its been a little busy around here... I feel like I need to update on Avery since it has been forever since my last post.
I can't believe how different Avery has been since I posted this. Literally, right after I posted all about how much of a screamer she was, she stopped. She only fusses when she is hungry or tired now... It's great! Even at night she wakes up pretty peacefully (unless I am lazy and wait to long to go get her up, then she gets impatient with me, lol). I think a lot of it has to do with the new formula we got her on. It's easier on her tummy, so she's not in as much pain. I can't thank God enough for such a great first baby!
Other than that, we've just been working on getting into a routine. She does really well at night and sleeps for multiple hours straight and takes a few naps during the day. Slowly but surely she is letting me put her down to do a few things around the house. The other day I was able to clean the floors... That is HUGE! lol
As far as shopping goes... That's been a work in progress. She hated her car seat and stroller for the longest time. I tried taking her to Target once and it was a disaster! She screamed the whole time. Not just a little fuss, though, this was so bad that everyone in the store could hear me. I was getting looks the whole time. I know people were thinking, "wow, she really doesnt know what the heck she is doing!" So, I decided we would not be doing that again for a while! lol
I think she is finally getting used to it, though, because we were able to take her out and make multiple stops with out her screaming. On Wednesday we even went to lunch with Stori, then to Target and T-J Max! wow! What a trooper.
Nana (my mom) is here this week to help me out and give me a little break. Jeff is working nights right now so it's nice to have her help me keep it quiet while he sleeps.
We head to Houston this weekend for my family's Easter weekend and then we will be celebrating with Jeff's side next week.
I took Avery shopping for her first Easter dress yesterday. This was a big tradition for my mom and sisters every year. We would make a day out of shopping for our Easter/Christmas/Birthday dress and have lunch... all the lovely girly stuff that we enjoy. Gosh it's so fun having a daughter I can make these memories with! :)

Speaking of...

Menchies Frozen Yogurt is my new obsession.
It's so cool... You get to fill your bowl, or waffle bowl, with however much and whichever flavor combination you want, plus any choice of topping you can think of, then just pay by weight.
They have different flavors every time you go, which is pretty cool since someone like me would just get the same thing every time, but if you are in the mood for a certain flavor, they may not have it. I'm normally an "only Blue Bell" kinda gal, but this is so fun that I am willing to venture out every once and a while. ;)
It has become a pretty big hot spot here... Maybe we should go get some tonight, too.
